When to print them, and what to do with them
In December, coloring helps children wait. That is why these are worth printing early: brought out on the 1st, one every other day, they last until the 24th — and the waiting becomes a collection that fills up instead of a countdown that won’t move.
The tree and the snowy landscape are the two largest white areas on the shelf. They ask for no precision at all, and that is what makes them useful at two: the white of the snow can stay white, and the page is finished anyway. The presents are the opposite — made of small parcels, they keep a four-year-old busy for an hour, giving each one its own wrapping paper.
A sheet colored in December has a second life the others don’t: it can be given. At Christmas, a child’s drawing is expected as a present, and is worth more than something bought.
