Galloping through the snow
The unicorn gallops along, hitched to a wooden sled that it pulls behind it. A harness goes around its chest, two stars decorate its hindquarters, and its mane flies in the wind. It is smiling: for the unicorn, pulling the sled is a game.
Two happy passengers
On the sled, a boy and a girl with ribbon-tied braids hold the reins. Both wear pom-pom hats and winter coats, and they are laughing out loud. A snowman in a hat, with a carrot nose, a scarf and twig arms, watches them go by.
One child at a time
The unicorn and the sled are big shapes. The two children, with their hats, coats and boots, have lots of little spaces: at four, you can color one child at a time. The snowflakes stay white or get a pale blue.
Warm colors in the cold
The hats and coats take bright colors, red, yellow or green, that stand out against the snow. The sled is brown wood, the snowman’s nose orange like a carrot. The unicorn’s harness can be red, and the stars on its hindquarters yellow.
A word for the grown-up: no snow? Play sledding in the living room: your child sits on an old blanket, and you gently pull them across the wood or tile floor, like the unicorn. Then it is their turn to pull their stuffed animal.
