A unicorn in a Santa hat
The little unicorn stands in the snow, a Santa hat with a big pom-pom on its head. A warm scarf is wrapped around its neck, and it smiles as it watches the snowflakes.
Big snowflakes
Big snowflakes of all sizes fall above it. Two fir trees stand around it, one on each side. In the snow, you can see a sprig of holly with three berries and two pine cones.
A page for little ones
At two, the unicorn can be colored with big, full-hand strokes: it is a big shape with a thick outline. The hat and the scarf are two clearly separate areas, easy to spot. The snowflakes, which are finer, can stay white: they stand out on their own.
Red and white
The hat is red, with a white pom-pom and trim, like Santa’s. The scarf can be green or blue, and the fir trees take their green. At two, three or four markers are enough for the whole page.
A word for the grown-up: put a big ice cube on a plate and let your little one touch it, with you right there. It’s cold, it’s slippery, and little by little it melts into a small puddle. Say the words together: cold, slippery, melting. The snow in the picture becomes a feeling they know.
