A nice warm mug
Standing on its hind legs, the unicorn holds a big mug of hot chocolate in both hooves. A mountain of whipped cream and marshmallows rises above the rim, and steam curls up from it. All bundled up in a knitted scarf, it is smiling.
Under the winter arch
Above it, a garland of fir branches, holly and pine cones forms an arch. Snowflakes fall gently on the snow. At the bottom, on each side, a little snow-covered fir tree stands among the snowdrifts.
A unicorn standing tall
The unicorn in the middle is made of big simple shapes, easy to color at four. The scarf gets colored in stripes, the mug in a single color. The branches of the arch, with their needles and holly leaves, are finer: save them for last.
Colors of warm and cold
The scarf can be red and white, or every color, and the mug a bright blue. The hot chocolate gets colored brown, the whipped cream stays white, and the marshmallows take pink. The branches are dark green, the holly berries red and the pine cones brown.
A word for the grown-up: make hot chocolate together. Your child pours the cocoa and stirs with the spoon, and you take care of the hot milk. Before the first sip, teach them to blow gently on the mug and test it with the tip of their lips.
