Lying in the snow with its scarf on, the unicorn makes a snow angel, between the little tree and the presents.

Arms and legs spread wide
The unicorn has flopped onto its back in the fresh snow. Eyes closed, it smiles as it sweeps the snow with its legs, and around it the shape of an angel appears: two big scalloped wings on either side, a long gown at the bottom. It wears a striped scarf tied at the neck, and its little tail peeks out to one side.
A winter morning
All around, winter has arrived: snowflakes fall here and there, a sprig of holly carries its round berries, a little tree trimmed with ornaments and topped with a star stands on a mound of snow, and three stacked presents wait at the bottom of the page. It is the game of every child discovering snow: lie down, flap your arms and legs, then stand up to admire your angel.
Wide shapes for the littlest ones
At two, children color with big sweeping strokes, and this page is made for it: the angel shape is large, its outline thick, and the unicorn in the middle fills up in a few strokes. The snowflakes, the holly and the presents are smaller. They can wait for another day, or be colored together, the grown-up’s hand guiding the child’s.
Snow that isn’t all white
The snow can stay white, but a very light blue inside the angel print makes it stand out, like a shadow. The scarf can take one bright color, or two alternating colors for the more patient. The tree gets its green, the ornaments and the ribbons on the presents the bright colors: at two, the joy of choosing matters more than the result.
A word for the grown-up: if it snows, take your child out, bundled up, to make a real snow angel, then look together at the shape left in the snow. Without snow, the game works on a rug or in bed too: arms and legs opening and closing, with lots of giggles.
