Mother and little one

In the middle of a flowery meadow, a mother unicorn smiles with her eyes closed. She wears a crown of flowers, a flower garland around her neck, and flowers tucked into her mane and tail. In front of her, her little one, crowned too, looks up at her, all happy. Butterflies flutter around them, and a few hearts float in the air.

A tender moment

The picture doesn’t tell an adventure: it shows a look between a mother and her child. The little one looks up; the mother closes her eyes with happiness. It is a gentle page that speaks to children about what they know best, the bond with their parents.

Two big shapes

The mother fills the left of center, the little one the right: two big, well-separated shapes, easy to fill at four. The flowers in the mane, the crown and the garland are smaller and take a bit of care. The meadow at the bottom is dotted with daisies, tulips and clovers.

Flowers everywhere

Every flower on the page can take a different color: pink, yellow, purple, orange. The two unicorns can wear the same color, like a family resemblance, or two close shades, pink for the mother and a paler pink for the little one. The leaves and grass finish it all in green.

A word for the grown-up: in a meadow, show your child how to make a daisy chain, splitting one stem with a fingernail to thread the next one through. They can give it to someone, like the mother unicorn’s garland.
