A good brushing
A mom with a ponytail, in a cardigan and jeans, brushes the unicorn’s mane with a laugh. The unicorn holds still, eyes closed, very pleased.
Baby plays in the grass
Sitting in the grass, the baby hugs a smiling plush star. Nearby, a block and a pacifier have dropped into the grass. Flowers, a leaf and two little mushrooms grow in the meadow, and three butterflies flutter under two clouds.
Big shapes
The unicorn, the mom and the baby are big shapes, easy to color at four. Color the curls of the mane one by one, or all in the same color. The little objects in the grass take the tip of the pencil.
Garden colors
The unicorn can stay white, with a pink, purple or blue mane. The mom’s jeans are blue, her cardigan a cheerful color. The plush star shines yellow, and the mushrooms have red caps with white dots.
A word for the grown-up: to brush out your child’s tangles without pulling, start at the ends, holding the strand just above the brush, then work your way up toward the roots little by little. A knot comes undone more easily from the bottom. At four, your child can hold the strand while you brush.
