A journey through the night
The unicorn gallops across the starry sky, in a harness with reins. Behind it, it pulls a big fluffy cloud decorated with swirls and little dots. Mane in the wind, it smiles: it knows it is carrying something precious.
A mother and her baby
On the cloud sits a mother, a bow in her hair, a scarf around her neck and a sweater with hearts. She holds her sleeping baby in her arms, in starry pajamas and a knit hat, and looks at it tenderly. At the top right, a crescent moon is asleep too.
The cloud and the unicorn
The cloud is the biggest shape on the page, easy to color at four. The unicorn on the left is a simple shape. The mother and the baby take more care, with the hearts on the sweater and the stars on the pajamas.
A starry night
The sky can take a deep blue, going around the stars. The cloud stays white, or takes a very pale pink. The reins can be golden, and the mother’s sweater a soft, warm color.
A word for the grown-up: bring out a photo of your child as a baby, in your arms, and tell them about that moment: where you were, what they were doing. Children love hearing the story of when they were little.
