Making the unicorn pretty
Two children are decorating the unicorn. On the left, a girl with pigtails tied with ribbons, in a cardigan and a dress, holds a bouquet in one hand and slips flowers into the mane with the other. On the right, a boy in a cap and short overalls hangs a garland of stars along the tail.
A garland of roses
The unicorn is already wearing a long garland of roses and flowers, with little stars hanging from it. It smiles, delighted to be fussed over. All around, hearts, stars, leaves and flowers float by, and two clouds drift across the sky.
Three characters
The unicorn in the middle and the two children on either side are nice shapes, easy to color at four. The garlands take more patience: every rose, every flower, every star is a little space.
Every flower in the garden
The roses in the garland can alternate red, pink and yellow, with green leaves. The hanging stars take a golden yellow. The unicorn can stay white so the flowers stand out, and the children can wear the colors you like.
A word for the grown-up: cut flowers and stars out of colored paper together, punch a hole in each, and thread them onto a string. The garland decorates the bedroom, like the unicorn’s.
