Under the cherry tree
A little unicorn sits under a big cherry tree in bloom. Flowers and a star decorate its mane, and a butterfly flutters close to its horn. It is smiling, with rosy cheeks.
A shower of petals
Petals drift gently down around it. On the left, a bunny sits in the grass; on the right, a chick is watching. On a branch, a bird is resting, and a rainbow appears behind the tree. Flowers, tulips, clovers and a second butterfly complete the scene.
Five-petal blossoms
The unicorn, the bunny and the chick are big shapes, easy to color at four. The cherry blossoms have five petals: color them one by one, with the tip of the pencil. The falling petals take a single stroke each.
Cherry blossom pink
The cherry blossoms take a soft pink, the branches a dark brown. The bunny can be gray or light brown, the chick yellow, the bird blue. The rainbow keeps its colors in order, from red to violet.
A word for the grown-up: in Japan, in spring, people gather under the blooming cherry trees to admire them: it is called hanami. If a tree blooms near you, go sit under it with your child, like the unicorn. They can try to catch a petal in midair before it touches the ground: it is harder than it looks.
