Two on one seat
A swing hangs from a tree’s thick branch by two knotted ropes. A boy in a star T-shirt and a girl in a flowered dress sit on it side by side, each holding a rope, laughing their heads off. Behind them, the unicorn gives them a gentle push, its mane flying.
A garden full of life
The garden is overflowing with flowers: daisies, tulips, flowering branches, a basket full of bouquets. Bees gather nectar, butterflies flutter, ladybugs wander about, and a watering can waits in the grass beside two mushrooms. In the background, a wooden fence, some bushes and a sun smiling between the clouds.
Lots of flowers, in every size
The characters fill the middle, with areas big enough for a four-year-old’s hand. The flowers, though, are everywhere, and often small: you can carefully color a few and leave the rest for another time. The big trunk on the left is a fine area to fill with brown.
A garden in every color
The garden is a chance to use the whole box: red, yellow, purple and pink for the flowers, green for the grass and leaves. The bees get yellow with black stripes, the ladybugs red. The swing seat, in light wood, and the ropes, in beige, link the children to the tree.
A word for the grown-up: at the park, when there is only one swing for two, suggest a game: twenty pushes each, counted out loud, then switch. Waiting your turn gets easier when you know when it’s coming.
