In the kitchen

The unicorn, in an apron with a bow, stirs the dough in a big mixing bowl with a wooden spoon. A star shines in its mane. Next to it, the ladybug, in an apron too, holds a star-shaped cookie cutter and a piece of dough. Flour has spilled over the counter, near a bag marked FLOUR.

Snack time soon

On a baking sheet, four chocolate chip cookies wait their turn. In the oven, another tray is already baking, and an oven mitt hangs from the handle. Above the stove are a spoon, a rolling pin, a cookie and a jar marked SUGAR. The two friends are delighted: it smells so good.

A kitchen full of details

At six, this page will please patient children: the chocolate chips, the oven knob, the mitt and the spilled flour are all little spaces. The two characters and the bowl offer bigger areas. The letters on the bag and the jar can be traced over with a marker.

Golden cookies

The cookies take a golden beige, with dark brown chips. The oven can be white, gray or bright red, like an old-fashioned stove. The ladybug keeps its red with black spots, and the aprons take whatever colors you like.

A word for the grown-up: bake cookies together. At six, your child can pour the flour and sugar, crack the egg, stir and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter. The oven stays your job, and the reward gets shared at snack time.
