In the big puddle
The unicorn and the ladybug have pulled on their rain boots, trimmed with little bows, and are splashing about in a big puddle. Water sprays up all around their feet. The unicorn smiles, a star in its mane; the ladybug laughs, antennae up.
The little cloud
At the top left, a little smiling cloud lets its drops fall, and rain is coming down all over. But nobody is hiding: the two friends love rain, since it makes puddles. Two flowers and a few tufts of grass are enjoying it too.
A big puddle
The puddle is a big shape at the bottom of the page, easy to color at four. The two characters are big and well apart. The splashes and raindrops, many and small, take more precision.
Colorful boots
The boots can be yellow, red or pink, like real rain boots. The puddle takes a light blue, with reflections left white. The ladybug keeps its red shell with black spots, and the unicorn whatever color you like best.
A word for the grown-up: after the rain, trace the outline of a puddle in chalk, then come back an hour later with your child: the puddle has shrunk. Without seeming to, it is a first lesson in evaporation.
