Hair time

A little princess raises her arm and brushes her unicorn’s forelock with a hairbrush. She has long straight hair, a crown with a star on it, a bracelet on each wrist and a puff-sleeved dress with two hearts on the bodice. Her big eyes shine: she is concentrating hard.

A patient unicorn

The unicorn lets her, standing nicely on all four legs, and smiles with its big round eyes. Its long wavy mane falls over its neck, and its tail makes lovely waves. Around them, a butterfly, a cloud and a flower: nothing disturbs the session.

Two big characters

The princess and the unicorn are big and fill almost the whole page: their shapes are easy to color at four. The strands of hair and mane form long bands that can be colored one by one. The background is light and gets colored in no time.

A matching pair

The dress can be pink with red hearts, and the crown gold. The unicorn’s mane lends itself to the colors of the rainbow, one strand after another. The princess’s brush and boots can pick up the color of the dress.

A word for the grown-up: tie three strands of thick yarn, in three colors, to a doorknob, and show your child how to braid: the left strand goes into the middle, then the right one. At four, it takes many tries, but the three colors help them keep track.
