A curious baby
A baby unicorn sits in the grass, its little pom-pom tail behind it. Its big eyes are full of stars, and it smiles as it reaches a hoof toward the butterflies, as if to touch them.
Four butterflies
Four butterflies flutter around it, each with different patterns on its wings: dots, circles, and even hearts. Two little clouds drift by, a few stars twinkle, and flowers and clovers grow in the grass.
A big round shape
The baby unicorn fills the middle of the page: it is a big round shape, easy to color at four. The butterflies are simple, with big wings. The patterns on the wings get colored separately, or stay white.
Butterflies of every color
Each butterfly can have its own color, with patterns in another color on its wings. The baby unicorn keeps a pale coat, with a curly mane in pink, lilac or blue. The grass is green, and the flowers yellow or white.
A word for the grown-up: make a painted butterfly. Your child dabs a few blobs of paint on one half of a sheet, against the fold, then folds the paper over and presses hard. When they open it, two matching wings appear, as if by magic.
