Off to school
The little unicorn walks briskly along, a backpack on its back. It wears a big knit turtleneck sweater, and a few fall leaves are caught in its mane. It smiles, with rosy cheeks.
Falling leaves
All around, maple leaves and other leaves come swirling down. Behind the unicorn, two pumpkins sit on the ground, with two acorns beside them. In front of it waits a stack of books, with a spiral notebook on top.
An easy page
The page has just a few areas, all fairly big: at four, you can color it without rushing. The sweater gets a single color, and its little knit patterns can stay white. The falling leaves get colored one by one.
Warm colors
The sweater can be red, orange or mustard, like a fall leaf. The backpack takes a bright color, with a yellow star on its pocket. The pumpkins are orange, the acorns brown, and the books every color.
A word for the grown-up: make a fall crown. Cut a strip of cardboard to fit your child’s head, then glue on the leaves you gathered on a walk, red, yellow and brown. They wear it proudly afterward, with leaves in their hair, just like the unicorn.
