A costume full of bones
The unicorn has dressed up as a skeleton: a head shaped like a round skull, with a little crack in it, ribs drawn on its body and bones down its legs. Even its mane is made of bones, and its tail is a row of little vertebrae ending in a tuft. Two crossed bones stick out behind its head.
A skeleton that isn’t scary
Its big eyes sparkle, and it smiles, showing its little teeth. A bow tie covered in pumpkins makes it look ready for a party, and a star and a moon hang from the tip of its horn. All around it, a ghost, two bats, a spider under its web and a crescent moon are smiling too. On the ground lie a pumpkin and two pieces of candy.
Bone by bone
The head and the body are big shapes, easy to color at four. The bones of the legs, the mane and the tail make lots of little spaces: you color them one by one, and it is good practice in patience. The bow tie and its pumpkins can wait until the end.
Bone white or rainbow
The bones can stay white on a body colored black or dark purple, like a real skeleton costume. You can also make them every color, for a rainbow skeleton. The ghost stays white, and the pumpkin and the bow tie take orange.
A word for the grown-up: help your child find their own bones: the ribs under their fingers when they take a deep breath, the kneecap that moves on their knee, the little bumps along their back when they bend forward. They have a skeleton too, hidden under their skin.
