A big jump
The little unicorn leaps, legs tucked, over a huge pile of autumn leaves. It is smiling, ready to land in the soft leaves. Around it, a few leaves are still flying through the air.
The leaf pile
The pile is made of dozens of leaves, maple and others, pressed close together. Two pumpkins have nestled into it, one on each side, and a knitted turtleneck sweater lies on top, as if the unicorn had taken it off to jump better.
A page for six-year-olds
The leaf pile takes patience: each leaf is a small area, with its veins. The page suits children from six. Start with the unicorn, the pumpkins and the sweater, then fill the pile leaf by leaf.
All the colors of autumn
Each leaf can take its own color: red, orange, yellow, brown, and even a little green for the last ones. Alternating three or four colors turns the pile into a real autumn blaze. The pumpkins are orange, and the sweater a soft color.
A word for the grown-up: on a walk, teach your child to recognize three trees by their leaves: the maple, with its pointed leaves; the oak, with its wavy edges; the horse chestnut, whose leaf opens like a hand. At six, they quickly find them on the ground, then look for the tree they fell from.
