A unicorn full of curls

A little unicorn sits up straight, facing us. Its mane and tail are made of tight curls, like springs. A star shines at the tip of its horn, and two little stars twinkle in its big eyes. It smiles gently, its cheeks pink.

Hearts all around

The unicorn is surrounded by hearts of every size, stars, sparkles, two little clouds and two flowers. No background, no complicated story: just a unicorn full of sweetness, among all the things children love to draw.

Curls to color

The curls of the mane and tail are the most fun part: each spiral is a little space. At four, they can be colored one by one or with broad strokes. The seated body is one big simple shape, and the hearts around it are easy to fill.

Rainbow curls

Each curl can take its own color, following the rainbow around the head. The hearts get colored red and pink, the stars yellow. The unicorn’s body stays light, white or lilac, to let the mane shine.

A word for the grown-up: fold a sheet of paper in half, draw half a heart against the fold, and let your child cut it out with round-tipped scissors. When they unfold it, a whole heart appears: symmetry explained without a word.
