A big hug

A little boy and a little girl hug the unicorn tight, one on each side, laughing their heads off. The unicorn smiles, eyes closed, its curly mane sprinkled with stars.

A shower of hearts

The boy wears shorts with suspenders and a T-shirt with a star; the girl, a dress tied with a bow and bows in her hair. All around, hearts, stars and sparkles float in the air.

Three big shapes

The two children and the unicorn are big shapes, easy to color at four. There are lots of hearts: color them all red, or alternate red and pink.

Cheerful colors

The unicorn can stay white, with a rainbow mane. The shorts can be blue, the dress pink or yellow. The stars shine yellow, and the hearts red and pink.

A word for the grown-up: teach your child to ask before a hug, “Can I give you a hug?”, and to listen to the answer. When they do not feel like one themselves, with friends or family, let them say hello another way, with a wave or a high five. A hug given freely is all the sweeter.
