Both fast asleep
Lying in the grass, a girl has fallen asleep against the unicorn, hands tucked under her cheek. Her hair is braided and tied with a bow, and she smiles in her sleep. The unicorn, lying down too, has closed its eyes and gently bends its head over her.
A quiet night
Above them, a crescent moon is asleep too, with a little smile. Stars shine between three clouds, and a few flowers grow in the grass.
Big areas
The page has just a few areas, all big: at four, you can color it without rushing. The unicorn is the biggest shape, and the girl snuggles up against it. The stars are small: color them with the tip of the pencil.
Night colors
The sky can stay white, or take a midnight blue, with a pale yellow moon. The girl’s dress can be pink or blue, and the unicorn keeps a white coat. The stars get colored yellow, one by one.
A word for the grown-up: for a few evenings, look at the moon with your child and draw its shape in a notebook: a thin crescent, then a half circle, then an almost full circle. At four, they discover that the moon changes shape, and watch for the next night’s.
