On the big mushroom
A little unicorn and a ladybug sit side by side on the cap of a big spotted mushroom. The ladybug has put its hand on its friend’s hoof. The unicorn has a heart on its flank and stars in its mane. Little hearts float up above them.
Two friends
The two friends look at each other and smile, and the ladybug’s cheeks are all pink. Nothing else is happening: it is a simple moment of friendship. At the foot of the mushroom, flowers and grass are growing.
The spotted cap
The mushroom cap is a big rounded shape, dotted with large spots: each one gets colored on its own. The stem is wide and simple. At four, the whole page is easy to color, with its well-separated shapes.
A storybook mushroom
The cap can be red with white spots, like in storybooks, or any color at all. The stem stays white or beige. If the cap is red, a darker red for the ladybug will help it stand out.
A word for the grown-up: the mushroom in the picture looks like the fly agaric, the red mushroom with white spots you come across in the woods in the fall. It is a good time to set the rule: mushrooms are for looking at, never for touching or tasting.
