Teatime

The princess and the unicorn sit face to face, each on a little wooden chair, at a round table. The princess raises a cup with a star on it; the unicorn, one hoof resting on the table, smiles at her.

A party snack

In the middle of the table stands a teapot, between a slice of layer cake topped with a cherry, a cherry cupcake and a plate of three chocolate chip cookies. The princess wears a crown and a puff-sleeved dress, with a bow at the waist and hearts on the skirt. All around are stars, hearts, a flower and a butterfly.

A detailed page

With its chairs, dishes and treats, this page has lots of spaces: it suits children six and up. You can start with the two characters, then the table, and save the dishes and treats for last. The chair rungs call for a steady hand.

A pretty table

The teapot and the cup can match, white with patterns, or a bright color. The cake alternates the pink of the frosting and the brown of the sponge, and the cherry is red. The chairs and the table take a wood brown, or a tearoom white.

A word for the grown-up: at six, put your child in charge of the family snack: they set the table, arrange the cookies on a plate, pour water or juice into the glasses and call everyone over. Serving others makes them proud.
