A sleepy journey

A little boy sleeps on his tummy on the unicorn’s back, his arms around its neck. He wears a nightcap with a pom-pom and pajamas covered with moons and stars. The unicorn, eyes closed too, glides above the clouds with a gentle smile.

The night sky

At the top of the page, a big crescent moon smiles in its sleep, and a smaller crescent floats on the left. Stars and bright dots are scattered across the sky, between the clouds. At the very bottom, a big sea of clouds carries the unicorn.

A big shape in the middle

Together, the boy and the unicorn make one big shape in the middle, easy to color at four. The clouds are big rounded areas. The stars in the mane and on the pajamas are small: color them with the tip of the pencil.

Dream colors

The night sky can take a deep blue or a purple, with a pale yellow moon. The pajamas can be sky blue, with yellow moons and stars. The clouds stay white, or take a very soft pink or mauve, as in a dream.

A word for the grown-up: when your child wakes up, ask whether they remember their dream, and suggest drawing it. If it’s all forgotten, they can draw the dream they’d like to have tonight. Keep these drawings in a box: in a few weeks, they make a little book of their nights.
