Singing while coloring

Where “Le bon roi Dagobert” comes from, and how it is sung.

Good King Dagobert has put his breeches on inside out, and the great Saint Eligius points it out. Both really existed: Dagobert ruled the Franks in the 7th century, and Eligius, a goldsmith, was his adviser. The song, written much later, pokes gentle fun at the king’s blunders, verse after verse. Children love acting it out with a sweater pulled on backwards.
