Singing while coloring

Where “Il était un petit homme” comes from, and how it is sung.

Old Guilleri goes hunting for partridges, climbs a tree to watch his dogs run, and the branch breaks: down he falls, and the ladies of the hospital rush to bandage him up. The chorus is a game of sounds — “Carabi, titi Carabi, toto Carabo” — that makes children laugh before they even follow the story. A very old song, not to be confused with “Pirouette, cacahuète”, which starts with the very same words.
