A verse of the words
Coccinelle demoiselle
Coccinelle demoiselle, bête à bon DieuCoccinelle demoiselle vole jusqu’aux cieux
What it says: The child greets the ladybug by her old French name, bête à bon Dieu, and asks her to fly all the way up to the sky.
The verses stay in French — they are what the child sings; next to each one, a plain-English gloss tells you what it says, so you sing the real words and understand every one of them.
