Halloween craft
The monster to dress up
One sheet to color, the craft drawer, and every child invents their own monster.
The sheet to print
One big monster in the middle of the page, with three eyes, horns, a hat and fur: room for anything you want to stick on.
Step by step
Ages 3+30 minutes
Supplies
- The sheet, printed — on 120 gsm paper if you have it
- Markers or colored pencils
- Googly eyes, or round stickers
- Whatever is in the drawer: bits of yarn, cotton, stickers, colored paper
- White glue
Steps
- Color the monster any color you like: green, purple, spotted, striped. It’s their monster.
- With a grown-up close by, glue a googly eye into each of the three eyes, with a dot of white glue.
- Dress it up with whatever you find: bits of yarn on the fur, stickers on the hat, torn paper for a cape or a bow.
- Let it dry flat, then give it a name and introduce it to the family.
There is no such thing as a failed monster: a crooked eye or a cape that is too big is what makes it one of a kind. For a Halloween party, put the craft drawer in the middle of the table and print one monster per child.
