Halloween craft
The Halloween mask
A mask to color, an elastic band, and on Halloween night, the child is the one who says “Boo!”.
The two sheets to print
Four masks, two per sheet, sized for a child’s face: the cat, the bat, the pumpkin, and the little monster you make up yourself.
Step by step
Ages 3+30 minutes
Supplies
- The two sheets, ideally on slightly thick paper, which holds better on the face
- Colored pencils or markers
- Round-tipped scissors
- A thin elastic band, about 30 cm (12 in) long
- Tape
Steps
- Choose a mask, then color it. The little monster is empty inside: its scales, spots or teeth are for the child to draw.
- Cut the mask out along its outline. The grown-up cuts out the eye holes.
- Turn the mask over and tape the elastic to the back, one end on each side, at eye level.
- Adjust the elastic to the child’s head, then put the mask on.
The mask leaves the mouth free: no need to take it off to taste the candy. A second piece of tape on each side keeps it on all evening.
