Halloween craft

The Halloween knock-down game

Six little monsters colored in, six cardboard rolls, a sock rolled into a ball: stack them up, aim, and down they all go. The Halloween party game, homemade.

The sheet to print

Six figures with a bold outline: the ghost, the cat, the bat, the little monster, the mummy, and a pumpkin with no face, for the child to invent.

Step by step

Ages 3+30 minutes

Supplies

  • The sheet, printed
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Round-tipped scissors
  • Six empty toilet paper rolls
  • Tape, or a glue stick
  • A sock rolled into a ball, or a small ball

Steps

  1. Color the six figures, and draw a face on the pumpkin: funny, cheeky, or pretend-scary.
  2. Cut out each figure along its thick outline. Under 4, the grown-up does the cutting.
  3. Tape each figure onto a roll, nice and straight, the bottom of the figure at the bottom of the roll.
  4. Stack the rolls into a pyramid, on a low table or on the floor: three at the bottom, two in the middle, one on top.
  5. Step back three big steps and throw the rolled-up sock: how many monsters fall?

Take turns: one point for each monster that falls. The youngest throws from one step closer.
