Halloween craft

The Halloween candy hunt

Six cards to color, six hiding places around the house. Each card shows where the next one hides, and the last one leads to the candy. No reading needed: the pictures do it all.

The sheet to print

Six picture clue cards: the sofa, the bed, the table, the boot, the bathtub and the toy chest, each with a little Halloween friend hiding in it.

Step by step

Ages 3+45 minutes

Supplies

  • The sheet, printed
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Round-tipped scissors
  • Candy, or a small surprise
  • A bucket or a basket for the treasure

Steps

  1. Color the six cards, and the little Halloween friend hiding in each one.
  2. Cut out each card along its outline. Under 4, the grown-up does the cutting.
  3. In secret, the grown-up keeps one card and hides the other five: each one in the hiding place shown on the card before. The candy goes in the hiding place on the last card.
  4. Give the first card to the child: they look at the picture, run to the hiding place and find the next card there.
  5. From card to card, all the way to the last hiding place: the candy is there!

For the little ones, three cards are plenty. The treasure can also be a cookie, stickers or a little book.
