Autumn craft
The owl that opens its eyes
A sleepy owl on its branch. Pull the little acorn above its head, and it opens its eyes wide. Push it back down: it falls asleep again.
The sheet to print
The owl card, the pull tab with its closed eyes and its open eyes, and two little paper strips to guide it.
Step by step
Ages 3+20 minutes
Supplies
- The sheet, printed at actual size
- Colored pencils or markers
- Round-tipped scissors
- A glue stick
Steps
- Color the owl, its branch and the leaves, then the eyes on the pull tab: the sleepy eyelids, and the big open eyes.
- Cut out the card, the pull tab and the two little strips. The two eyes of the card are cut out too: the grown-up does it, following the circle.
- Turn the card over. Glue the small strip at the very top, and the big one just below the eyes: only their two ends, on the dotted lines.
- Slide the pull tab under the two strips, acorn at the top: the owl is asleep, eyes closed.
- Pull the acorn up: the owl opens its eyes!
Print without scaling: the pull tab then slides just right.
