Autumn craft
The cut-and-glue squirrel
A little squirrel in separate pieces. Color them, cut them out, then build it back on its autumn scene, piece by piece, all the way to the acorn it hugs.
The two sheets to print
The squirrel’s pieces and its acorn, then the autumn scene with a dotted squirrel that shows where each piece goes.
Step by step
Ages 4+30 minutes
Supplies
- The two sheets, printed at actual size
- Colored pencils or markers
- Round-tipped scissors
- A glue stick
Steps
- Color the squirrel’s pieces and its acorn, then the scene: the tree, the sun, the mushrooms and the leaves.
- Cut out each piece along its line. The smallest ones, the arms and the ears, need a little help.
- Lay the pieces on the dotted squirrel, without glue, to find where each one goes.
- Glue them in this order: the tail, the ears, the body, the acorn, the arms, the feet, and the head last.
- The squirrel hugs its acorn: it is ready for autumn!
Print both sheets without scaling: the pieces then fit the dotted lines just right.
